POTATO Corner isn’t your average fast food outlet, specialising in arguably the best part of the meal — fries.
The Blacktown Westpoint takeaway is a first for Australia after Potato Corner attracted a cult-like following in the Philippines.
Managing director Jan Flores set up shop on Level 1 on December 27 after he tasted the fries overseas.

“I was on holiday in the Philippines with my brother and he was raving about these fries,” Mr Flores said.
“After I had one, I wanted to share it with my community.”

The criss-cut ranch’o cheddar was especially more-ish.
Mr Flores was floored when they sold out of spuds on the opening day of business.
“We had close to 200kg worth of potatoes that day,” he said.
“Everyone loves fries — Australians on average eat 60kg of potatoes a year.”

Spud lovers can pick from four different cuts of potato — original, tater tots, criss-cut and loopy fries.
Coated in the seasoning of your choice, the potatoes come in three bucket sizes — jumbo, mega and giga.

Servings come in three sizes — jumbo, mega and giga.
We tucked into barbecue loopy fries, ranch’o cheddar criss-cut and sour cream and onion original cut fries — all in giga size.
Packed with flavour and not succumbing to a greasy aftertaste like some hot chips, it easy to see why customers join the large queue at Potato Corner.
