We are proud to announce that Forward Thinking Design has been provided with two SYDNEY Design Awards 2020! We have been awarded Silver in the Interior Design – Hospitality – Casual category for our work on the Club Catalina Main Bar and Members Lounge. To reposition Club Catalina as a standout in their industry we undertook extensive market research and facilitated stakeholder and co-design sessions. Together, with the Club community, we created a new hospitality experience and strategy. The Main Bar and Members Lounge renovation returned a 44% increase in general visitors (by comparable past period) in the months post-renovation, despite the catastrophic fire season and resultant closure of the Club for a good part of this period.
We also received Silver in the Service – Community category in recognition of our socially and environmentally responsible design process. This award celebrates creative and innovative solution design for the successful delivery and provision of services, especially with consideration given to user experience. Forward Thinking Design is a 17 year old social enterprise founded for ethical, social and environmental impact reasons and is now recognised as a B Corporation and Social Traders Certified. We’ve taken the best elements of Agile and traditional design thinking to craft a unique way of working with our clients. Our process emphasises ownership and empowerment through emotionally intelligent research and truly sensitive and respectful facilitated co-design.
